From Hallward library to student halls.Taken a week ago.

做完一件不可能的事,遇見一個不可能的人,其實都不難,要的是一點堅持,還有一點運氣。

昨天還被冰雹砸得衣服頭髮濕透,今天一抬頭竟是一片綠蔭,樹葉子長胖了一圈,草稈子長高了一截。University Park的春天真是美,若是天氣好,走整整二十分鐘哪怕只爲去看一眼那顏色也好。更何況還有很多賞心悅目的年輕男女,三五成群坐在草地或者山坡上。有時我想,離開了這裡,大概再也不會見到更大更廣闊更起伏壯闊的草坪和山坡了吧;也不會見到Hallward Library前,Cherry Tree Hill上,比陽光還耀眼的青春的暖意了吧。

圖書館一年最熱鬧的時候,恰恰是春光最好的時候。 Read the rest of this entry »

Notes from Great Britain

[Written for UNNC Student Newspaper The Beacon]

When I was thinking of any worth telling fresh experience in the United Kingdom as an exchange student from China, Bill Bryson’s Notes from a small island, a best seller in travel memoirs of Britain, just came to my mind. Here by the “small island”, he refers to Great Britain, compared to the “big country” of United States where he was born and lived for the first 21 years of his life.

Interestingly, I come to Britain in my 21, too. It’s my first time aboard, and UK is definitely more different from China than from America. I’m reading Bryson’s book right now, as well as discovering my own version of Great Britain during my five month stay here. Read the rest of this entry »

重溫:斷愛近涅槃 by 林清玄

這兩天睡不著的時候,看複習的PPT都不管用。想想從2012年開始,還真沒怎麼睡過一兩個好覺,半夜碰到醒著的人總是相互說我去睡了你也早點睡,一來二去大概再也沒有人會相信我會早睡這回事兒了,紛紛勸說我去了英國可以過真正的北京時間,這樣朋友的真是催人墮落也合人心意。

有人說,“閱讀或者旅行,身體或靈魂總有一個要在路上”。心不安定,那麼可能是兩者都缺乏的緣故。以往不喜歡做夢,能回憶起的都是很科幻的夢境,比如變成深海里自由的鱼、在云端滑翔以及在地壳下穿行。偏偏最近總是夢見現實中的人事,雖然一旦醒來就回想不起,卻莫名地感到悵惘。

也許是年關將至,身邊人事又充满變動波折的緣故。時間匆匆將自己推往人生的下一個階段,哪怕心中誠惶誠恐,卻也要打起精神鼓足勇氣走向前去。

此時又想起林清玄的《斷愛近涅槃》,很久以前在大巴上轉過這篇文章,那時還不到二十歲。現在看來,這兩年心性長得沒有年齡快,把文章貼在這裡重溫,也是自勉。 Read the rest of this entry »
